Xavi: “Despite the game, we are quite satisfied with a good result to decide the tie on the return leg at Camp Nou

Xavi responded on the 1-1 Draw against Frankfurt

Xavi Hernandez responded to the 1-1 draw against the German opponent Eintracht Frankfurt. Xavi seemed to be unhappy with his team’s overall performance but he said that result is satisfactory if we look at it in the bigger picture.

Xavi on the game:

“I congratulate Frankfurt as they have worked very well. We lost a few unnecessary balls, and we have to reduce those errors, and be aggressive in pressing after we lose possession.”

Xavi on Frankfurt:

“Frankfurt is a complicated rival. Physical, they were coming out like demons on the counter and we haven’t known how to stop those transitions.”

Xavi on the pitch condition and grass:

“Today the ball did not move well because of the pitch. On our pitch, it will be better. The pitch wasn’t great.”

Xavi on Frenkie and Dembele:

“We had to rest Frenkie and Dembele because they were tired.”

Xavi on the return leg:

“Despite the game, we are quite satisfied with a good result and the tie will be decided on the return leg at Camp Nou. Camp Nou must be a pressure cooker.”

Xavi on Pique’s injury:

“Pique’s injury? He has been in pain for quite some time and today he has suffered. Hopefully, it’s not very serious.”

Xavi on Frankfurt’s goal:

“Frankfurt’s goal was great but the problem for us was the speed of the rebound. It is sad because Eric played a good game.”

Xavi on the tie:

“In Europe everything is equal, Frankfurt is complicated.”

That concludes Xavi’s press conference after the match
