The constant eruption of new talents is becoming more and more prominent at FC Barcelona. La Blaugrana have already entrusted several youngsters with massive responsibilities, but they do not seem to stop. Already, even more young pearls from Barcelona are getting ready.
Opportunities wait for no man, and the ever-promising youngsters remain aware of this. Within the occasional chance that the fortunate few get to have with the first team, the young pearls of the quarry must impress Xavi Hernandez. However, once they manage to do that, they are often given great opportunities as a consequence.
Fortunately for a certain 18-year-old winger, it seems that he has caught the eye of the Barcelona first-team manager. As highlighted by SPORT, Juvenil A captain and Oscar Lopez’s bright winger, Nil Caldero, has caught Xavi’s attention and was thus called up to the recent first-team training session.
Joining his idols from the Barcelona first team, he also had the likes of Diego Kochen, Diego Percan, and Mamadou Mbacke. Unfortunately, others such as Hector Fort, Mikayil Faye, Marc Casado, and Marc Guiu were unable to join because of the need of Barcelona Atletic for some reinforcements.
Aged 18, Caldero himself is a player with a great trajectory. Able to score goals freely, and also possessing a creative element to his game, the winger is a bright spark within the Barcelona youth teams. It is not surprising that the player is training with the first team already, but he is fortunate to have a strong precedent set before his arrival.
Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi, and others have showcased that age alone is not a deciding factor at Barcelona anymore. The coach values meritocracy, and if a player is able to prove his worth, he gets the opportunity to shine under the tutelage of the Barcelona icon.
Unfortunately, impressing the Barcelona coach is a massive hurdle in its own right. There is no telling what the ceiling for Nil Caldero is, but he seems like a promising bet. Pure wingers are a rare breed of players these days, so as time passes, the value of Caldero to Barcelona could exponentially spike.
