FC Barcelona need to urgently recover their key players as they enter a key phase of their season. La Blaugrana have struggled and suffered in recent games, with much of the blame being on themselves. Unable to play at their best, they have been outplayed by teams that they were expected to overcome.

The recent games against Real Sociedad and Shakhtar Donetsk were the breaking point. Both sides managed to outplay Barcelona, and despite their rather lucky win over Sociedad, Shakhtar managed to beat Barcelona in Hamburg.

However, fans of Barcelona can now feel excited about what’s to come. In his recent press conference, as highlighted by SPORT, Xavi Hernandez has given a return date for star midfielder Frenkie De Jong who is currently sidelined due to an ankle injury.

“Frenkie will be available against Rayo Vallecano.”

The coach has thus confirmed that the Dutchman will indeed return for Barça’s next La Liga encounter. This comes as great news for La Blaugrana who have severely missed the influence of one of their captains.

His ability to control and operate the Barcelona midfield is second to none and when he returns, he will easily slot right back into the starting eleven. In his absence, Barcelona have struggled both in terms of the way they play as well as the unfavorable results they have managed to accumulate.

The game against Rayo Vallecano is scheduled to take place at the Vallecas on the 25th of November. It would be Matchday 14 of La Liga EA Sports for Barcelona. Prior to that, however, Xavi’s men will first look to face off against Alaves at the Montjuic Stadium before the International break comes into play.

Without De Jong, Barcelona have managed 5 wins, 2 draws, and 2 losses in the 9 games that he has been sidelined. On the other hand, while De Jong was available, Barcelona remained unbeaten and had 6 wins and one draw from 7 games.
