Several issues remain unresolved within the offices of FC Barcelona and some are indefinitely more pressing than the others as the official season of La Liga is just around the corner with 24 hours left to go.
The concern of various transfer profiles is yet to be finalized by the Catalan giants and Xavi Hernandez, in particular, is the individual most concerned by the speed and lack of finalization thus far in terms of closing up said operations.
However the most pressing, and arguably the most important, concern remains the registration of several players that are thus far ineligible to appear for FC Barcelona in this upcoming 2023/2024 La Liga campaign until and unless their registration is finalized.
To combat this, according to a recent update by Spanish outlet Diario AS, Barcelona hope that the funds generated from the sale of Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessie and the imminent confirmation of Ousmane Dembele’s departure to PSG alongside the closing of an economic injection courtesy of the “German lever”, the club would be able to register the remaining players within the team.
Thus far, as per the report, Barcelona only has eleven players registered for the upcoming La Liga campaign with the registered players being Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres, Pedri, Gavi, Frenkie De Jong, Eric Garcia, Jules Kounde, Andreas Christensen and Ter Stegen.
New arrivals and recently renewed players remain unregistered. However, the higher-ups at Barcelona continue to assure Xavi Hernandez that the remaining players will be registered and available for selection before the opening game for Barcelona against Getafe.
On the other hand, other concerns for Xavi Hernandez remain attached to the fact that Barcelona has thus far been unable to close down the signings in several requested positions such as right-back and that of an offensive midfield acquisition.
Names such as Joao Cancelo, Ivan Fresneda, Pablo Maffeo, Joao Felix, Neymar Jr, and even Bernardo Silva remain linked to FC Barcelona, yet a final conclusive decision is yet to be found on the front of any of these operations, and with time slowly ticking away, Xavi would ideally want his available players for the upcoming season to be sorted out as soon as possible.
