Xavi Hernandez considers his position as the Barcelona head coach as a massive responsibility given that he himself has experienced the pressure and expectations held of the coach when he too was a former player at the Catalan club.
Now, with the official La Liga season having finally kicked off, there remains great expectations of him as well. Despite the obvious setback faced against Getafe in the opening game of the 2023/2024 campaign, the Barcelona coach believes it best to move on and focus on the upcoming tasks ahead.
Most recently, however, as Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo highlights, the Barcelona coach was questioned during his recent press conference regarding his contract renewal situation considering the new structural changes at Barcelona with Deco’s arrival, to which he replied:
“On a scale of 0 to 10, it’s a 10. There’s no problem,” he said in regards to him continuing with FC Barcelona beyond 2024 as well and hoping to renew with the club of his life despite any doubts that may arise.
Xavi is thus far managing Barcelona for the third season in a row, with last season having been the coach’s first full season in charge of the club, and during his reign as Barcelona head coach, he has already won the Catalan giants a La Liga title and Spanish Super Cup, with even more titles as his objective.
