Xavi talks about Dembele, Araujo, El Classico ahead of Barcelona vs Almería

Xavi during the pre-match press conference

Xavi spoke about Dembele’s return, Ronald Araujo’s availability, Ansu Fati’s injury, and the match against Real Madrid in his pre-match press conference ahead of Barcelona vs UD Almería.

Xavi on the game against UD Almería:

“UD Almería are a tough opponent, especially at home, where they have won a few games. It is possible that they will come up with 5-6 players in defense.”

“We are not thinking about the El Clasico in the cup; the focus is on the game against Almería.”

Xavi on Dembele’s recovery:

“Dembele is training with us, he is not 100% yet but he is progressing towards training with the team. What we must not do is force him to return to play, we trust our feelings.”

Xavi on this season’s objectives:

“If we win the League, it will certainly be a good season. We depend on ourselves, even in the cup with a tough opponent on the way. This could be a good season.”

Xavi on Ansu Fati’s injury and Ronald Araujo’s availability:

“Ronald Araujo is 100% fit and will be available for the game against Almería. Ansu received a slight blow, but he is expected to be available for the cup game against Real Madrid.”

Xavi on the elimination from Europa League:

“The message after the expulsion from the Europa League is to continue forward. There is definitely a disappointment, but the truth is that the bigger disappointment is the expulsion from the Champions League.”

Xavi on the defeat against Manchester United:

“In games like this with a quality opponent like United, you can also lose, that’s football. The players understand this.”

Xavi on Ferran Torres:

“I think there is a change in Ferran Torres, there is a change in his mentality. The game against Cadiz was one of his best games and also against United he contributed, he will continue to be an important player for us.”
