Xavi during the post-match press conference after the 5-0 win against AD Ceuta Fc

Xavi spoke about the improvement in the team’s performance, rotations, Memphis Depay’s wish to leave, Lewandowski’s performance, Ansu Fati’s game time, and signings in the January window in his post-match press conference after the 5-0 win against AD Ceuta.

Xavi on Lewandowski’s performance against Ceuta:

“Lewandowski has shown today that he’s a tremendous professional, with the same attitude as in the final.”

Xavi on Memphis Depay’s departure:

“Memphis told me he wanted to leave because it was a good opportunity for him. I don’t think it’s official yet but we have respected his wish.”

Xavi on the attitude of the team against Ceuta:

“The attitude of the team is commendable. It’s very important that we learned from the experience against Intercity. It cost us, but in the second half, we were very good. It’s not easy to play at these grounds.”

Xavi on the improvement in his team’s performance:

“Little by little we are improving in many aspects. We are more fluid, and we have more confidence. The Super Cup has given us this leap in quality that we were looking for. We are better than a few weeks ago. We want to win the Copa del Rey.”

Xavi on Ansu Fati:

“Ansu played half an hour today against Ceuta but we agreed that he will start on Sunday against Getafe.”

Xavi on possible signings in January window:

“It wouldn’t be a tragedy if no one came, but I want to strengthen the squad.”

Xavi on rotations against Ceuta:

“The players that started today are not secondary players. We’re a squad, and they are important players. In defense, we did very well today. There are many things that I like. We are in a good moment of form and we must take advantage of it.”

Xavi on Ferran Torres:

“Ferran may not be scoring as much, but he works hard for the team. Ansu will start on Sunday, I had already agreed with him that he would come on for half an hour today.”
