Xavi spoke about winning La Liga, rumors regarding Ansu Fati, Jordi Alba’s late winner, Gavi’s injury, Frenkie de Jong’s role, and Sergio Busquets’ continuity in his post-match press conference after the 1-0 win against CA Osasuna.

Xavi on winning La Liga:

“La Liga is almost won. These six points were very important for us after the defeat in Vallecas. Now we are waiting for what is happening in San Sebastián. These six points are a giant step.”

Xavi on Raphinha and Gavi’s substitution:

“Raphinha had a knee problem and at the beginning of the second half, he said he couldn’t continue. That’s why we accelerated and Ousmane came in. We think Raphinha’s discomfort is just a blow and Gavi’s discomfort is nothing important either.”

Xavi on Jordi Alba:

“Jordi Alba is an extraordinary passer, like a midfielder. He makes the pass at the right time when required by the move. He’s being an example and I’m especially happy for him because I know it’s not easy when you’ve been a starter for the last 10 or 12 years.”

Xavi on exits and arrivals in the summer transfer window:

“I have to make decisions. I have to decide who will continue and who will not be in the team next season.”

Xavi on rumors regarding Ansu Fati:

“I’ve seen Ansu well, but it doesn’t help that the media say he’s for sale. There are headlines today that he’s for sale for 70 million euros. If you want to help a player, that doesn’t add up.”

Xavi on Messi’s suspension:

“I can’t comment on Messi’s situation with his club. I don’t know the situation.”

Xavi on Sergio Busquets’ continuity:

“I’m going to try to make Busquets stay. He will say it, but I will understand any decision. He is very important inside the dressing room and crucial on the pitch. I can understand that he is tired.”

Xavi on Frenkie de Jong:

“We have discovered the ideal role for Frenkie de Jong, and his performance in today’s game was exceptional. He has consistently expressed his desire to remain with us. Frenkie is an outstanding player who excels when playing alongside Busquets as the base of the midfield, making a significant impact.”
