The upcoming game against Cadiz for FC Barcelona in La Liga EA Sports 2023/2024 will be one where the Catalans already enter the game keeping in mind the disadvantages they possess in the form of losing two key players for the game.
24-year-old Uruguayan defender Ronald Araujo and 26-year-old Brazilian winger Raphinha will both be unavailable for Barcelona to play against Cadiz, with the defender out due to injury and the winger having to serve a suspension.
A player who may be counted on given their absence could be 19-year-old La Masia youngster Marc Casado, who continues to impress Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez as per Spanish outlet SPORT, with the manager having even praised him in a previous press conference.
Primarily a midfielder with the technical abilities to thrive as an interior and possessing solid positional and game awareness, something that Xavi particularly takes a liking towards, as well as being versatile in his ability to also play as a right-back when the occasion requires him to.
Having consistently been included in the Barcelona first team plans since last season by Xavi, with a UEFA Champions League appearance against Viktoria Plzen also under his belt, the player may become an even more important asset to the first team this season resulting in fewer appearances than usual for Rafa Marquez’s Barcelona Atletic.
While his profile is almost the polar opposite of Ronald Araujo’s imposing and physical presence, Xavi could possibly deploy the youngster at right-back for a more technical approach to the game if that’s what the Barcelona coach believes is needed for that game.
Yet to make his first-team league debut, there is a strong chance that he could potentially do so for the Barcelona first team against Cadiz at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium on matchday two of Barca’s 2023/2024 La Liga campaign.
