Xavi’s reaction after the 4-0 win against Cadiz

Xavi spoke about the medical emergency in the stands, the effect on the team’s overall performance due to rotations, chance creation in the first half, and the win against Cadiz in his post-match press conference.

Xavi’s reaction after the 4-0 win against Cadiz

Xavi on the medical emergency in the stands:

“The life of a human being is above football. We hope the fan recovers quickly. The three parties, us, Cadiz, and the refereeing team made a decision to resume the match after informing us that the medical team had treated the case.”

“If there had been a misfortune, then we would have suspended the match for sure.”

Xavi on defeating Cadiz:

“We hadn’t beat Cadiz in two seasons. This was an important win. We knew that Cadiz are not going through their best moment, but they played a very strong defensive game, looking to beat us with their aerial threat. But we’re the deserving winners.”

Xavi on rotations and the match against Bayern:

“Even if we didn’t play Bayern next week, I would have started the same XI. This season, our squad is full of guarantees. No matter who plays, you can’t tell the difference.”

Xavi on his team’s overall performance:

“I’m happy, but we didn’t play an excellent match. Winning away from home is always important. In the first half, we didn’t generate as much as we expected. In these games, the key is to open the can. We need to understand the last pass, but in general, we are happy, despite not having an excellent match.”
