Xavi spoke about the defeat against Real Madrid, missed chances, positives from the game, and his team’s overall performance in his post-match press conference.

Xavi’s reaction after the defeat against Real Madrid

Xavi on the game against Real Madrid:

“Nothing comes out of us despite faith and self-respect. Today’s match was a very good opportunity to continue leading but we came out empty-handed, we had options for a draw but we didn’t take advantage of our moments.”

Xavi on the positives from the game:

“The positive thing today is what happened in the second half. We played with enthusiasm and were able to beat Real Madrid players when we were looking for the second goal.”

Xavi on missing chances:

“Without playing a great match, we could have come out 1-1 or 2-2, but that’s what happens when you don’t take your chances at the Bernabéu.”

Xavi on his team’s overall performance:

“I feel bad and frustrated, we weren’t as aggressive as we should be, defensively we weren’t good and in transitions too, we didn’t have a good game, yes but there were our moments, today we missed a lot of things and we have to criticize ourselves.”

Xavi on fighting for titles:

“We are in the process of building, and we will fight for titles, it is still October and we have to make some changes.”

Xavi on Real Madrid:

“I don’t think Real Madrid beat us with intensity, but with maturity. They know how to compete better, they are a much more accomplished and mature team than us at the moment.”

Xavi on the defeat against Real Madrid:

“We are in a negative dynamic. We must criticize ourselves, we know internally we are not doing well, we are in a bad dynamic and we have to change that now, we have to improve our efficiency. We have to be more competitive.”

That concluded Xavi’s post-match press conference.

  1. Xavi if u want to succeed always start every game with Fati, Luwa & Dembele up front then center Pedri, De joung & Kessie OK, not in the name of promoting spainish players but your reputation.
