Yamal making Barcelona lose interest in Brazilian wonderkid

The youngster Lamine Yamal has been shining with FC Barcelona throughout the season, but it was his performance in the friendly between Spain and Brazil that has got everyone talking about how good a player he is going to become in the coming years.

He took the spotlight in this match, while playing against a team that has traditionally been famous because of its dribblers, and had the likes of Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes, and Raphinha playing for them.

His performance in this match would have particularly triggered happiness among the decision-makers at FC Barcelona, as they can rest assured that they have a real gem in their hands, that they can polish further to create a world-class footballer in the coming years.

According to SPORT, the Sporting Department at FC Barcelona has decided not to take any steps that can create problems for Lamine Yamal in the coming years. Thus, the Catalans will not pursue the young Brazilian forward, Etevao Willian, nicknamed Messinho, as he is the same age as Yamal, and also plays in a similar position.

Getting the Brazilian would have been extremely difficult for Barcelona anyway, as Palmeiras are not open to negotiations after having agreed a bumper deal with Real Madrid for Endrick. Thus, they have asked all the interested clubs, including Chelsea and PSG, to pay the €60 million release clause for the winger if they want to have him.

Therefore, it makes no sense for Barcelona to spend such a huge amount of money on a player who is not only not going to have any significant impact on the team, but can also impact the growth of one of the Catalan club’s most promising players.

Thus, FC Barcelona will continue to protect Yamal going forward, and allocate their resource to strengthen other weak areas of the team.
