One of the young players identified by FC Barcelona to become their next superstar is the Brazilian youngster Vitor Roque. The player is currently having a phenomenal season, in which he has risen to stardom, and has continued on his good run of form.
Roque rose to prominence in this year’s South American U-20 tournament, where he was one of the top scorers with 6 goals, and also ended up winning the tournament. Furthermore, he has also been called up for the Brazil senior team due to his performances this season.
He has also continued with his hot form with his club, Athletico Paranaense. Up to this point in the season, the player has already contributed 7 goals and 2 assists in 14 games for the club.
His goalscoring abilities were once again on the showcase, as he scored a good goal in an important tie against the Brazilian powerhouse Flamengo.
The youngster was a key player in this match and made the difference which allowed his team to come out as the victors from this tie. He scored the first goal for his team after a great pass from ex-Manchester City midfielder, Fernandinho, which tied the scores after a penalty from Gabigol had given his opponents the lead.
He scored another goal later in the match, which, however, was ruled out for offside. He also played an important role in the second of his team’s goal, which was scored by Erick. Meanwhile, FC Barcelona would be happy to notice the great form the youngster is showing at the moment.
They have been actively associated with the player for some months now, and the player himself has shown a willingness to wait for an approach from the Catalans before he considers offers from other big European clubs to take the next step in his career.
