20-year-old Barcelona forward continues to display his newfound strength – report

Barcelona forward Ansu Fati

Ansu Fati remains one of the most hotly discussed topics when it comes to Barcelona. The 20-year-old forward from La Masia made his breakthrough in the first team in 2019 and the road ever since has been one of both ups and many downs.

Clearly one of the most prodigious academy talents at FC Barcelona, praise for him echoed through the ranks of the Catalan academy and it translated well into his start with the first team where he began to break record after record at a staggering rate.

However, just as consistency and quality displays had become a normality to the youngster, the Barcelona academy product faced the biggest hurdles yet in his career in the form of various injuries that he sustained over the course of the next few years.

Losing dynamism and confidence whenever he would make his return after recovery, the player was losing out on the trust from the Barcelona Directors and coaching staff simultaneously. Yet, through his own physical planning and determination, he has arguably returned to his former best.

As highlighted by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, the player is quite happy and content with the current Barcelona management and the faith they are now showcasing in his abilities.

During the pre-season, in particular, against AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur, the player showcased his excellent goal-scoring instinct with two crucial finishes that would ultimately see Barcelona win both the encounters mentioned.

He continues to train with newfound joy and determination, while also reportedly having become much more vocal and open within the Barcelona dressing room as well.

Despite the earlier whispers of the young Barcelona forward being on his way out, with interest ranging from clubs in England all the way to Saudi Arabia as well, the player remains determined to make his own mark at the Catalan club and has informed his agent to keep his name away from any such operations.

Moreover, Xavi’s earlier statements after the Joan Gamper clash made it originally seem like he was expecting the player to be sold this summer but sources from within the management team and other important members have reported to MD that it was not the intention of the Barcelona head coach.

Instead, it was just a precautionary statement that applies to others such as Ferran Torres, Ez Abde, and Raphinha as well, given the rather vulnerable financial position of FC Barcelona and the necessity that may arise to part ways with any player that could bring a significant amount of revenue through their sale that could help Barcelona register current players and acquire new ones to reinforce the side.
