It goes without saying that the Barcelona youngsters continue to provide quality whenever they are called upon. Unlike other academies and youth systems in football, Barça’s rarely ever disappoints. However, while many of the most prodigious Barcelona talents are already excelling at the biggest stages, others are waiting for their shot.

Fortunately for them, Barcelona coach Hansi Flick comes at them with the offer of a lifetime. Not every player will be able to cash in on it, but those that are being given the opportunity to represent the first team during the pre-season have now been handed a golden ticket right to stardom.

One of the names that will be most excited to grab that opportunity with both hands will undoubtedly be Angel Alarcon. As highlighted by SPORT, the 20-year-old Spanish forward and Barcelona Atletic representative has now received a second life of sorts with this new chance.

Last year, despite playing a few games for Xavi Hernandez’s Barcelona, the youngster could not find continuity. This was because of an untimely injury that ultimately ended up keeping the young striker sidelined for more than 12 months.

Now, however, as Alarcon leaves his injuries behind and more clubs continue to show their interest in him, Barcelona have decided to take a gamble with him.

A versatile attacker and one who knows how to put the ball into the back of the net, he possesses a profile that is valued by Hansi Flick. However, the Barcelona forward only has a contract until 2025 and it must be renewed in any case, whether it is to retain the player or get some extra funds for when he ends up being transferred.

With Marc Guiu now headed to Chelsea, a new opening arrives for Angel Alarcon. It is now up to him, however, to decide what he is going to do with that chance. Many players would go to any extent to get the chance he now has at Barcelona to show his talents to the new first-team coach.
