It is never beyond Barcelona to find the right moment to seize certain transfer operations. The Catalan giants, riddled with financial limitations, have to look in directions where their finances are not the biggest limiting factor. Instead, Barcelona now hope to continue investing in the youth of tomorrow.

Thus, they keep their scouts active and their eyes peeled to ensure no possible gem passes by without their knowledge. Any and all of the most competent gems that pass through into Europe thus become great objectives for Barcelona to assess and evaluate.

The case of a certain South American winger is no different, as he becomes the latest name on Barça’s agenda. According to SPORT, English Championship side Watford currently possesses the services of a certain 20-year-old Colombian winger named Yaser Asprilla, and Barcelona are speculated to be interested in him moving forward.

A winger with great ability to overflow and dismantle defensive structures, he is the kind of profile Barcelona would love to add to their team.

Moreover, he is also quite effective when it comes to goal contributions. With 6 goals and 5 assists to his name this season, it is no wonder that a lot of teams have keeping an eye on him.

Signed by Watford in 2022, his original transfer cost for them was only €3 million. However, at this point in time, reports from Colombia state that there is no chance the player moves for anything less than €40-50 million.

With his great ascendancy, teams beyond just Barcelona are also now interested, including sides from the English Premier League.

In the event that he does end up signing for Barcelona at some point, he would be the third Colombian to do so. Yerry Mina and Jeison Murillo would happen to be his predecessors at the club. Despite their rather tainted stays at the Blaugrana club, Barça would ideally hope for much better from Asprilla.

Watford, on the other hand, are looking to imitate one of their best transfer operations. Having signed Joao Pedro in the past for €4 million, before offloading him to Brighton for €34 million, they look to repeat the same formula with the young 20-year-old winger, whether it be with Barcelona or some other suitor.
