There were several Barcelona players who showed a great level against Paris Saint-Germain. In the grandest of stages, age differences aside, all kinds of Barça stars popped up. However, certain Barcelona players definitely managed to single-handedly turn the tide of the game around.

One of those players was none other than Pedri himself. The 21-year-old midfield prodigy finally returned to the field for Barcelona after suffering a muscular injury that kept him away since the encounter against Athletic Club at the San Mames and produced magic against PSG.

However, beyond just his influence in the game, Barcelona are already ready to reward him for something that showcases his value to them.

According to SPORT, who convey the message of Fabrizio Romano, Pedri’s new contract is already in the works. Barcelona are currently developing and fixing the various adjustments needed to create a contract proposal that rewards Pedri for both his quality and what he means to the Barcelona brand in the years to come.

His last contract, signed almost a year and a half ago, is valid only until 2026. However, despite there still being close to two years left in his ongoing deal, Barcelona are not willing to take any chances. They wish to retain their Golden Boy winner and do so in a way that makes him feel wanted and appreciated.

Even despite his injury concerns and the belief from some that he must not be counted on, Barcelona have brushed aside all the negativity. They remain fully aware of the quality that he brings and his ability to turn entire games around simply by himself and his trusty game-changing techniques and qualities.

Romano even mentions that Barça’s UCL opponents, Paris Saint-Germain, have even tried to persuade Pedri to depart from Spain in the past. However, each of those attempts have proven to be useless as the Canary Islander remains determined to succeed at Barcelona and ensure his legacy there is historic.

Already possessing a €1 billion release clause, the new contract that Barcelona offer may likely keep that active. However, his personal terms and contractual offerings will definitely improve and help their superstar be compensated properly for his quality and loyalty.
