Barcelona can Land Three Manchester City Players in the Summer

Three Man City Players on the radar of FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona are looking for a number of signings in the upcoming transfer window to strengthen their squad. While they are scouting talent from a number of sources, Manchester City is one of the clubs whose players Barcelona are finding particularly attractive.

Barcelona’s sporting department have a number of tasks on their hand for the transfer window. In addition to signing contract renewals of some of their key players, they also have to buy new talent to compete on all fronts in the coming season. The Blaugrana hierarchy has identified three Manchester City players to strengthen different parts of their squad as per the report from SPORT.

One such area is the midfield, where Xavi’s team has been somewhat reliant on Pedri for creativity. In two seasons in which Xavi has been in charge of the team, the team has suffered greatly when Pedri was out of action due to injury or suspension. This was clearly observable in the last few matches, in which the Barcelona team got eliminated from the Europa League without Pedri’s qualities.

Ilkay Gundogan:

Thus, Xavi has identified Ilkay Gundogan as one of the players that can both complement the midfield with Pedri and can also replace him when he is not available. Gundogan’s contract ends in June this year, and the club hopes he can join them as a free agent.

Bernardo Silva:

Another Manchester City player that Xavi prefers from Manchester City is Bernardo Silva, and the Blaugrana gaffer is particularly impressed by his quality, ball control, and ability to take the ball to rival’s box. He can also be a good source of creativity from the midfield and is also reported to be keen to play in Spain after this season.

Aymeric Laporte:

The third Manchester City player that Barcelona are interested in is the experienced center-back, Aymeric Laporte. Despite having a phenomenal season defensively, the Catalan club is looking to further bolster its defense in the coming season, and Laporte is one of the main options being considered.

His ability to build up play from the back, as well as his experience, will make him a good option for Xavi’s squad next season.

Barcelona have already recently signed Eric Garcia and Ferran Torres from the Manchester Club, and the good relations between these two clubs could result in the transfer of one or more of these players as well in the next transfer window.
