With all the injuries and physical problems with players in an already short squad, FC Barcelona would ideally bring in several new players in the winter transfer window.

However, owing to the club’s financial problems, the Catalans will be unable to do so and are likely to bring in only one reinforcement, Vitor Roque.

However, an influx of cash can help the club make moves for other players in the market. Barcelona is currently waiting to receive cash for the final sale of Barca Studios from Libero Group, and is already in negotiations with two other interested parties, in case no money arrives from Libero.

Moreover, there is another source from which the Catalans are looking to obtain some money. As SPORT has reported, Barcelona are waiting for the sale of Juan Miranda from Real Betis, upon whom they have a right to receive 50% of any transfer fee paid.

Miranda’s contract at Real Betis runs out at the end of this season, and the player is not too keen to renew it. The Verdiblancos already tried to sell him in the last summer transfer window, but the fullback ruled out a move.

However, Miranda has now agreed to leave for a low transfer fee so that Betis will also benefit to some extent from his departure.

While there are several clubs bidding for the player, his most likely destination seems to be AC Milan. The Milanese club is open to getting him in the winter, so they do not have to enter a bidding war when Miranda becomes a free agent in the summer.

Milan, or any other club, will reportedly pay around €4 million for the fullback, and with a 50% right, Barcelona will receive €2 million from Miranda’s move, which can be used to adjust the salary limit of the team.

Previously, Barcelona were also considering getting the player back to the club as a replacement for Marcos Alonso.

However, Xavi is now planning to use Cancelo as a backup for Balde, and the need for Alonso or Miranda does not hold any longer. Miranda himself was not too keen to return to Barcelona either.
