FC Barcelona continue to work towards their future beyond just the players of the first team. While Xavi’s squad is responsible for being the main flag bearers of the club, the roots of Barça grow much deeper. Over the last several seasons, Barcelona has worked to develop and grow their quarry and subsidiary as well.
With new faces coming in almost every summer, it is never a surprise to see Barcelona linked with promising young gems. These players possess the ability to become great assets for the club in the future, and are thus great players for a side like Barça to focus on and pursue.
Accordingly, it is now being reported that a certain pearl from Germany has Barcelona interested in his services. As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, who quote BILD, 20-year-old VfB Stuttgart II midfielder Raul Paula is now on the agenda of FC Barcelona.
A talented midfielder, he possesses the traits that all modern playmakers require. Currently playing for the club’s subsidiary team in the German fourth division, his numbers this season are nothing short of surreal.
In 21 appearances for VfB Stuttgart II, the 20-year-old has scored 13 goals and provided 5 assists. Already impressive numbers, they have not gone unnoticed by the likes of just Barcelona, but also other teams from other leagues.
The Premier League, as per the report, contains some of the young midfielder’s most adamant suitors. Moreover, Barcelona president Joan Laporta also seems to have taken a liking to the youngster, and would not at all be displeased to see him don the Blaugrana colors.
