Barcelona forward’s agent set to meet with his family, big decisions imminent

FC Barcelona have done well in the past to maintain good relationships with the agents of various stars and key players. These relationships often come in handy when handling potential transfer targets and certain transfer dealings.

However, there are times when even unpleasant decisions have to be made, and in scenarios such as these, this relationship is truly tested between personal interest and the client’s benefit from the perspective of an agent.

The arrival of Portuguese super agent Jorge Mendes in the city of Barcelona comes bearing signs of imminent developments. The agent currently remains obligated to various FC Barcelona players such as Alejandro Balde, Abde Ezzalzouli, Lamine Yamal, and Nico Gonzalez. However, the player in particular whose upcoming future may be the primary motive of this visit to the city is a certain someone currently donning a fabled “responsibility” on his back.

20-year-old Ansu Fati has begun to face both pressure and unwanted criticism following an accumulation of less-than-ideal performances since his proper return from a string of injuries. The youngster, currently donning Barcelona legend Lionel Messi’s number 10, has consequently had massive speculation surrounding him regarding a potential transfer away from the Catalan giants.

The arrival of his agent at such a key time does not only exist as a coincidence. As per recent reports, the agent had assured Barcelona that he would be able to procure interest from the English Premier League for the youngster and come bearing an offer of at least €70 million for the Spanish forward.

With meetings with both club representatives and the player’s entourage likely, it seems now only a matter of time before a final decision on the player’s next step is taken. Upon his arrival and exit from the airport, the agent was met with Carlos Monfort of Jijantes FC and the agent would go on to say the following as he sat in his car:

“I’ve come to talk to the family [of Ansu Fati]. Ansu is a great player and he has shown his value at Barca before the injury. He is a phenomenon. And now let’s see what he’s going to do!”

It now remains to be seen just how much these recent developments have an impact on the personal decision of the player, as, despite these rumors and speculation of him leaving, Ansu Fati reportedly remains adamant on proving his worth right here at FC Barcelona.
