It was always a treat to see the young minds of Barcelona continue to flourish in the demanding world of football. Despite their tender ages at times, these youngsters possess great abilities that they can show off. Most do this at Barcelona, but some also take them along to the international stage.

Just as Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi have gone on to make history with Spain, other Barcelona talents have done so with their respective nations. One such talent is Senegalese defender Mikayil Faye. Despite being aged just 19, the African defender got to debut for his nation’s senior team.

Moreover, he did not let his debut simply be recorded down as just a debut for all its worth. Instead, as highlighted by SPORT, he chose to stun everyone around the world with a sensational goal. Despite being a defender, he chose his moment and managed to score a goal of the highest order.

Playing against fellow African team Gabon, Faye got his moment of glory near the 44th minute. Following a Senegalese set piece that was cleared away from the Gabonese box, the ball fell towards the young 19-year-old Barcelona talent, who controlled it and gave it a slight push before letting loose a ferocious shot from well outside the Gabonese box.

A straight killer shot, it tilted with just the right amount of dip to it to be blasted into the back of the Gabonese net after a tackle with the crossbar as well. Sensationally scored, the goal shocked the Senegalese team as well as the media around the world as they kept eyes on the young Barcelona prodigy.

Moreover, beyond just his sensational goal, Faye was also defensively remarkable. Throughout the 80 minutes that he played, and to be fair even beyond his time on the field, Gabon could not conjure up a single goal. Ultimately, the 3-0 win went in the way of the Senegalese team, with the youngster from Barcelona taking almost all the major headlines.
