With Xavi Hernandez having already announced that he will step down from the coaching duties at FC Barcelona at the end of this season, there is a lot of speculation in the media about who the next Barcelona head coach will be.
In this regard, several names have already been linked with the Catalan club, including those of Thiago Motta, Michel, Rafa Marquez, Jurgen Klopp, and Hansi Flick. But this list is not yet exhaustive in any way.
Another name that has been linked with a job at Barcelona, but not in a very conspicuous way up to now, is that of the Portuguese tactician, Sergio Conceicao. However, the current Porto coach is expected to be linked more strongly with the Blaugrana club from now on.
This is mainly because, as Mundo Deportivo has reported, Conceicao has already decided to leave his position at Porto. The manager has decided to leave the club irrespective of the results of the presidential elections at Porto or the sporting results of his team.
The head coach is in his seventh season at Porto and his contract expires in the coming summer. However, he has not yet officially announced his decision to leave the club at the end of the season.
For his next project, the Porto manager is not so much motivated by money but is looking for a promising and good project. That is one of the aspects that can provide an advantage to Barcelona if they look towards him to guide their next sporting project after Xavi’s departure.
Still, Mundo Deportivo also claims that with the lack of an official announcement to leave the club, there is a chance that the results of the presidential elections at Porto can convince Conceicao to remain at the club even further, and nothing is certain for now.
