FC Barcelona were able to overcome the feelings of pessimism, that crept into the team after the 4-1 defeat to Real Madrid last Sunday, with their win over Unionistas de Salamanca. The Catalans came out as the victors in this match, with a 3-1 scoreline in their favor.

While most Barcelona fans would be taking this victory for granted, keeping in view that the opponents were a Primera Federacion side and Barcelona had a clearly superior squad, this match and the victory will be an unforgettable affair for one individual in particular.

This person is the defender Pau Cubarsi, who made his first-team debut on Thursday night while being only 16 years old. The youngster was able to mark this special occasion with an assist for Jules Kounde’s goals.

In addition to the sporting merits that he showed on the pitch, Cubarsi also showed his maturity away from the field with a social media post after the match. As SPORT has reported, the youngster wrote:

“After six years at the best club in the world, yesterday I had the opportunity to make my official debut. A very important victory to advance to the next round of the Copa del Rey.”

“I would like to thank all the people who have always been by my side in both good and bad times, and especially my family for supporting me. Thanks also to the coaches who have accompanied, helped, and taught me, and to the entire staff for trusting me at all times. It’s time to keep going and continue fighting for what lies ahead.”

This was a special moment for the youngster, and several of his teammates made sure to congratulate Cubarsi on his latest achievement.

FC Barcelona players like Fermin Lopez, Hector Fort, Ander Astralaga, Pau Victor, Quim Junyent, and Marc Bernal were among the most notable names who responded to Cubarsi’s post and conveyed their best wishes for him.
