Clubs throughout Europe have started planning for the upcoming summer transfer window, and the case is no different for FC Barcelona. However, the Catalans will have to tread in the market with great uncertainty because of their financial situation.

Owing to their weak finances, FC Barcelona will be looking to reinforce their squad by signing some players available for free. The Catalans have reaped great benefits by signing the likes of Andreas Christensen and Ilkay Gundogan with such a policy in recent times.

This coming summer, SPORT reports that one of the players who is going to be a free agent and is being linked with Barcelona is the French midfielder Adrian Rabiot. His contract with Juventus is going to end on 30th June, when he will become a free agent and will be able to negotiate with any side that he wants.

The Frenchman was already close to signing for Barcelona in 2019, and now the Catalans are reportedly considering offering him an attractive contract. Deco is said to be contemplating offering the player a two-year contract, with another optional third year also under consideration.

As things stand, the only thing certain for the 28-year-old French midfielder is that he is not going to sign a renewal with Juventus.

Other than that, nothing is certain, especially as it is not only Barcelona interested in the player, but other big European clubs like Newcastle United, Arsenal, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United are all also keeping their eyes on him.

Although Rabiot has been playing at the highest level for a lot of years now, he is still young and is close to turning 29 years old in a few days. However, it is not clear what role Barcelona will offer him, as the Catalans already have a highly competitive midfield, with several players playing at a very high level.
