FC Barcelona are set to introduce a completely new regime into the club. Xavi Hernandez is no longer expected to stay at the club, and his place will be taken by someone else. With Barcelona already having confirmed Xavi’s departure, there is a lot of excitement about what lies ahead for La Blaugrana.

As per several reliable sources, it will be former Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick who will end up taking over Xavi’s spot at Barcelona. The German coach, someone who already has a lot of experience with coaching top-level players, will be bringing his own ideas to the club as well.

Yet, prior to the speculated decision of Flick being appointed, something that is still not officially confirmed, there were rumors suggesting that information was inquired about the German manager from a player who has prior experience with him, Ilkay Gundogan.

However, as highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, the German star’s entourage completely denies any such involvement or passing of information. They state that it would be a breach of trust and would show a lack of respect towards the current Barcelona head coach, Xavi Hernandez.

The report states that the player was not asked any such question regarding his opinion of Hansi Flick. Moreover, even if they had approached him to get such information out of him, the player would have not answered simply to respect the honor of the Spanish coach currently leading Barcelona.

Previous rumors, even though denied by the Barcelona midfielder’s entourage now, suggested that Gundogan had stated that Flick was a capable coach but one with a soft character.

This would undoubtedly have tainted the former Bayern Munich and German National team coach’s image, and it may have resulted in a whole lot of unnecessary drama coming out of an already troubled club.
