In the upcoming summer transfer window, the attacking line of FC Barcelona is expected to undergo a change. The Catalans are looking to bring in a new left-winger, with the likes of Luis Diaz, Dani Olmo, and Nico Williams being linked with them for this position.

However, to bring in a new forward, the Blaugranes will have to see one of their current players depart from this position. The Brazilian winger Raphinha is the most likely candidate for a sale, with Lamine Yamal being the only winger having a secure position at Barcelona.

But that is not to say that other players are looking to leave the club, irrespective of their current position in the pecking order. This is especially the case for Ferran Torres, who clearly stated that he will not be leaving Barcelona this summer in a recent interview which has been reported by SPORT.

Talking about his future at the Catalan club, the former Manchester City winger said: “It’s not that I want to stay, it’s that I am going to stay at Barça… I am very calm, I will continue at Barça next year. You can save your ink and replace my name with someone else’s.”

With Xavi Hernandez’s departure at the end of last season, there are several changes expected to take place in the Barcelona squad, as Hansi Flick will have different ideas about which players he wants to have in his team.

But with his comments, Torres seems quite confident that he will be able to impress the German tactician. Even if he is unable to do so, he can decide to stay at the club as his current contract goes till 2027 and he has a release clause of €1 billion.

Last season, the winger played 42 games for the Catalan club, scoring 11 goals in the process, and becoming the team’s second top-scorer, behind only Robert Lewandowski and tied with Fermin Lopez. But with Yamal and Raphinha expected to be automatic starters next season as well, he will still have a hard time breaking into Flick’s starting eleven.
