Injuries and physical problems have been some of the most significant factors that have impacted the results for FC Barcelona this season. Ever since the start of the season, the Catalans have seen several of their important players miss games due to physical issues.

Only in the last week, Barcelona lost Alejandro Balde to an injury that now requires him to go through surgery, and thus remain on the sidelines for the entirety of the rest of the season. Similarly, Sergi Roberto also suffered from some discomfort in the recovery session after the Athletic Club game.

However, there was also some good news for Xavi and the fans in this regard, as Joao Cancelo made his return to the starting lineup in the game against Villarreal.

Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, there is another piece of good news on the injury front, as Inigo Martinez participated in the team’s last training session, and completed a part of the training with the team.

The defender had suffered an injury in the biceps femoris of his left thigh in the Copa del Rey game against Barbastro, and was able to play only eleven minutes in that match.

Since then, he has missed important ties against Unionistas de Salamanca and Athletic Club in the Copa del Rey, and the La Liga matches against Real Betis and Villarreal.

Along with Martinez, there were several youth team players who also participated in this training session, including Ander Astralaga, Diego Kochen, Marc Casadó, Marc Guiu, Pau Cubarsí, and Héctor Fort.

The team is set to play against CA Osasuna in their upcoming La Liga game this Wednesday, but it will be difficult for Xavi’s men to concentrate fully on that match, especially with the events taking place at the club in the last few days.
