FC Barcelona won a difficult match at El Sadar last night as the Catalans came out on top against Osasuna with a 2-1 scoreline. The match was a highly pulsating affair, with both the teams trying to gain all three points and attacking one another’s goal constantly.

This was also a memorable match for some Barcelona players as they made their debuts in the Blaugrana jersey. One such player was Joao Cancelo, who came on in the second half to try to settle the game in Barcelona’s favor.

Cancelo was substituted into the match on the 58th minute, as he replaced Sergi Roberto. Thus, his first appearance came only hours after he had joined Barcelona and had been presented as a Cule.

As SPORT has reported, Cancelo was up for a media talk at the conclusion of the match. Regarding his debut, Cancelo commented:

“I am very proud to have made my debut for Barcelona. It’s a title for me.”

Then the fullback went on to talk about the difficult match and shared his delight at his first Barcelona victory:

“It was a very challenging win. My teammates had already told me that it was a very difficult stadium, and that’s how it turned out.”

Lastly, the player also praised the team and provided an insight into how well he is getting incorporated within it:

“They have welcomed me very well. It’s a good group. I’m confident that with this group, we can achieve great things.”

However, his first stay in Barcelona was a short-lived one as Cancelo will be leaving the Catalan club to join his national team after this match. With Portugal, he will play in the two qualifiers against Slovakia and Luxembourg, before returning to the Catalan capital for his club duties.
