Given how big the aspirations of FC Barcelona are, the club needs equally capable stars. Players come in different kinds of quality, but only true game changers succeed at the highest level. Unfortunately for Barcelona, some of their profiles do not meet those standards.

One specific area where the Catalan giants continue to lack the quality they need is on the wings. Ousmane Dembele was once Xavi’s solution to many issues when it came to width, but he has since left the club and gone to PSG.

Filling his void, however, has proven to be quite difficult for Barcelona. Lamine Yamal is a promising candidate, but he is too young to be expected to deliver week in and week out. Other signings have done well in their own ways, but they do not possess the unbalancing qualities of the former Barça winger from France.

One name that does stand out for Barcelona as a future arrival as such is Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The Georgian winger, currently playing for Napoli, is Barça’s great desire for their left-wing position. However, as per the latest update from Mundo Deportivo, that desire may have hit a roadblock.

The player’s father, Badri Kvaratskhelia, offered an update on his son’s future. As per his words, the Georgian winger will stay at Napoli next season as he looks to continue with the side from Naples:

“(He) will decide to stay at Napoli next season.”

These words go against the belief of his agent, however, who believes his client deserves better. Moreover, the player’s agent has stated that he believes the winger to be ready to play for the likes of Barcelona or Real Madrid.

However, even beyond that, Barcelona would not have an easy time getting the player to sign. With his current financial valuation, he is too expensive an asset for Barça to pay the full price for. Moreover, with the number of suitors that he has, it would not be an easy pursuit either.
