Official starting Line-up of FC Barcelona against Espanyol

Barcelona midfielder Pedri

FC Barcelona travel to the RCDE Stadium to face off against Espanyol in what could eventually become an immortalized game in club history. If La Blaugrana manage to come away with all three points, it will ensure that the La Liga title goes to FC Barcelona, marking the 27th league title in their history.

Lining up in Barcelona’s now traditional 4-3-3 formation, Xavi deploys his strategic false winger formation where the left-winger essentially acts as the team’s fourth midfielder as well as an overarching asset to the frontline primarily comprised of the two specialist forwards.

In goal, as expected, starts Marc Andre Ter Stegen. En route to potentially breaking a bunch of historic clean-sheet-related records this season, the German international will look to do his best to ensure he can keep another clean sheet against Espanyol.

In front of the German, the two central defenders deployed are Danish defender Andreas Christensen and Uruguayan defender Ronald Araujo, with Frenchman Jules Kounde on the right flank of the defense and Spaniard Alejandro Balde on the left.

The midfield consists of Barcelona captain and soon-to-depart veteran Sergio Busquets in the pivot position, along with Pedri and Frenkie De Jong ahead of him as the primary interiors of this ‘Gala‘ eleven.

Lastly, the frontline is composed of Robert Lewandowski at the central helm of the attacking trident, with Brazilian Raphinha on the right wing and Golden Boy Gavi starting on the left wing as Xavi’s false winger in the team.
