Xavi Hernandez’s decision to step down from the coaching position at FC Barcelona will have long-term implications for both the club and the coach himself.

The Catalans will now have to look for another manager, without being able to offer him a lot of signings, because of their weak finances, while also working towards getting a competitive squad for the next season.

Meanwhile, Xavi will also be looking for his next job. There have been no indications of what his next destination could be, as he is still focused on ending the season on a high note with Barcelona, but some suitors for the current Barcelona head coach are already emerging in the market.

As SPORT has noted, Xavi’s prestige as a player and his experience managing one of the biggest clubs in the world of football is highly valued in Saudi Arabia, and his name is gaining prominence in the Middle Eastern country.

Furthermore, Qatar, where Xavi ended his playing career and started his coaching job, will also always have its doors open for the former Barcelona midfielder.

However, it is Saudi Arabia that can be a more viable option for Xavi, as the country has made immense investments in football in the last year, and wants to have the most well-known footballing personalities operating in its orbit, especially to gain more prominence ahead of the World Cup that the Saudis are set to organize.

As things stand, nothing is certain, and there has even been no contact between Xavi and any of the Saudi clubs. However, Xavi still has a good standing in the Middle Eastern country, and the Saudis can tempt him in the future.

For now, Xavi will be looking to end the season at Barcelona with a big title, with his team in contention for La Liga and the Champions League. Only then will he start pondering upon his next destination.
