Xavi spoke about Lewandowski’s form, Christensen’s performances, Lamine Yamal’s renewal, Pedri’s importance, Abde’s return, Raphinha, and Ansu Fati in his pre-match press conference ahead of the match against CA Osasuna.

Xavi on Osasuna:

“We analyzed Osasuna, they are a very tough team. On Saturday, they will play a very important match, perhaps the most important match in their history. Their season is great and it will be a difficult match.”

Xavi on Lamine Yamal:

“Lamine is a boy who has his feet on the ground. He is cheerful and positive. His head is focused and I see him as first-team material. They tell me that Lamine’s renewal is under control. He wants to succeed here and wants to play for Barca.”

Xavi on Lewandowski:

“Lewandowski’s last two games have been great and overall his season has been amazing.”

Xavi on Abde:

“With Abde, we will decide at the end of the season. He has matured a lot, he has progressed in his career and it has been a very good loan. He has a lot of talent to succeed at Barca, he has the conditions to stay here but it also depends on his mentality.”

Xavi on Ancelotti’s praise:

“Football professionals know that the league is won by the best and the most consistent team. The ‘KO’ competitions are more unfair. I thank Ancelotti for his words.”

Xavi on Andreas Christensen:

He’s an extraordinary defender. Christensen is one of the best signings for Barcelona in recent years, without a doubt.”

Xavi on Pedri:

“The problem is that Pedri is a special and differential player. I wish we could have two or three ‘Pedris’. We have to improve collectively even if we can’t count on him or other important footballers like Dembele.”

Xavi on winning the league:

I want to win the league as soon as possible, doesn’t matter if it will be in Cornella. We can’t choose where to win it. We have to win the league regardless of where we do it.”

Xavi on his coaching carrier:

“I’m enjoying it (coaching). Since January until now, I’m enjoying it. Before I suffered more, but that’s normal for a coach.”

Xavi on Man City’s potential treble:

“It would be fair, because they are the best team in the world at the moment and they have the best coach.”

Xavi on Ansu Fati:

“Ansu is fine, he is calm. He had a great game against Betis coming off the bench.”

Xavi on Raphinha:

“Raphinha and Dembélé have played a lot of games together and they can continue to do so. Raphinha is having an amazing season, he has amazing numbers and I told him this few days ago.”
