Barcelona ace optimistic about his team’s chances against PSG

While the team has not been able to replicate their last season’s form in La Liga, FC Barcelona have still been able to progress into the latter stages of the Champions League, and are set to play in the quarter-finals in April.

Today, the draws for this round of the tournament were held, and as already reported, Barcelona are set to face PSG in the quarter-finals. The first leg is scheduled to take place in Paris at the Parc des Princes, while the return leg will be held at the Montjuic.

PSG is one of the strongest teams in Europe currently, and Barcelona will have to be at their best to get past them to the semi-final stage. However, as Mundo Deportivo has reported, the striker Robert Lewandowski was fully confident of his team’s chances of winning against the Parisians:

“I’m sure we will play better than in the two matches against Napoli and we will reach the semifinals.”

The veteran striker also named one of former Barcelona forwards as a player, along with Kylian Mbappe, against whom the team will have to be particularly wary:

“It’s not just Kylian Mbappé, but also other players like Ousmane Dembélé. For him, I think this match can be very emotional.”

Dembele has been performing at a high level in France since joining PSG in the last summer transfer window. He has scored one goal and given seven assists in 22 Ligue 1 matches while giving another assist in 7 Champions League matches.

Thus, it would be a difficult task for the Barcelona defense to hold their own against attackers as dangerous as Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele.

However, the Catalans will be confident as their defensive form has improved over the last few weeks, and hopefully, attackers, including Lewandowski, can do their job on the attacking front to help Barcelona reach the penultimate stage of the tournament.
