Barcelona find their most dynamic trio in front of goal

In addition to their defensive errors, FC Barcelona have also dropped several points this season due to their ineffectiveness in front of goal. In fact, Xavi Hernandez even complained about the lack of his forwards’ consistency when scoring goals.

To mitigate the situation, Vitor Roque was brought to the club in January, after having been signed in the last summer transfer window. After a quiet first month or so at the club, the Brazilian is starting to make his name known in his new surroundings.

Now, with the most decisive stretch of the season ahead of them, Barcelona will have to ensure they do not suffer from their previous errors in attack. As Mundo Deportivo has noted, Barcelona can look forward to a good future in this regard with the front three of Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal, and Vitor Roque.

Xavi and Barcelona were facing a lot of uncertainty in the attack before the Alaves game because Joao Felix, Ferran Torres, and Raphinha were all injured, and these three have 21 goals between them this season.

Furthermore, Lewandowski’s form was also not all too trustworthy, as the Pole himself admitted that he had struggled at the end of 2023, and had gone six league games without scoring.

However, the trio of Lewandowksi, Yamal, and Roque took the attacking burden on themselves and did not disappoint. Lewandowski opened the scoring, while Yamal also completed a very good match in all aspects.

The Pole and the Spaniard could play only 13 minutes with Vitor Roque, before the latter was shown two yellow cards and expelled from the game. However, he was able to get his name on the scoresheet in this limited time, as he scored the last goal of the match.

There are even more reinforcements for Xavi in line for the forward spots, as Raphinha is expected to be available for the upcoming match against Granada. However, with the form that Yamal has been showing, the Brazilian winger will find it extremely hard to get back into the starting eleven.
