The current international break has been a torrid one for FC Barcelona. The Catalans lost one of their most important midfielders, Gavi, to an ACL tear, which will keep him out for the rest of the season and also has the potential to significantly impact his abilities to keep on playing his best football for some time, even after he returns to the pitch.

An ACL tear is one of the worst scenarios that a professional footballer can face, and such an injury can leave significant trauma for a player as young as Gavi.

The club and the rest of his teammates seem to realize the implications of this injury for the youngster and thus were there for him when he visited the club’s facilities this week after suffering the injury while on duty with Spain.

One of the players who greeted and consoled Gavi at this visit was his fellow midfielder, Pedri. However, as Mundo Deportivo has reported, Pedri has once again taken the time to send a message of support to his teammate, this time through a social media post that can be seen by everyone.

Pedri has himself only recently returned from one of his many injuries in the last few months and thus related his own experiences with what Gavi has suffered. The midfielder wrote:

“I send him a lot of encouragement. I know these are very difficult times for him. I’ve had several injuries, and I know that when you’re injured, you value being healthy a lot. We will all help him together.”

Other teammates and players from around the world have already supported Gavi in this difficult moment, and Pedri’s words will also hopefully have a positive impact on the youngster.

Gavi is expected to undergo a surgery on 28th November, and will be unable to participate in the UEFA EURO 2024 and the Olympic Games next year, in addition to missing the games with Barcelona for the rest of the season.
