FC Barcelona remain convinced that their next step forward will have to be one that rather than involving new arrivals, instead involves departures to better help improve the financial sustainability of the club’s various budgets and decrease the economic restrictions imposed upon them.
Following the arrivals of Manchester City and Girona midfielders Ilkay Gundogan and Oriol Romeu, respectively, the Catalans are well-secured in terms of their midfield prospects for the upcoming season.
As things stand, there are several players within FC Barcelona that Xavi Hernandez currently feels are surplus to requirements, among whom also exists the Ivorian midfield talent of Franck Kessie, formerly an AC Milan player.
According to the latest report by Spanish outlet SPORT, Barcelona have set their asking price for the out-of-favor midfielder at €15 million, and they already have a list of potential suitors, one of which is Italian side Juventus.
Initially, speculation suggested that Juventus were looking to engage in negotiations for a possible swap deal for Franck Kessie with the Serie A side in return sending talented winger Federico Chiesa in the way of Barcelona.
However, it appears that Barcelona were not that interested in the presented swap deal and would instead like only cash in exchange for the services of the 26-year-old Ivorian midfielder, who was formerly very successful with AC Milan as they won silverware together.
At the moment, Barcelona continue to hope that they can soon offload the midfielder and bring in some much-needed funds to help the Catalan side better advance through the rest of the remaining summer transfer window.
