Having gotten over the last winter transfer window with only the acquisition of Vitor Roque, FC Barcelona are now planning for the upcoming season.
The Catalans will have to sell some of their players to be able to sign new players in the summer, and as already reported, Barcelona have already received bids for three of their highly important players, i.e., Ronald Araujo, Frenkie De Jong, and Raphinha.
If one or more of these high-profile sales are finalized, the Catalans will hopefully be able to get into a signing position. In this regard, Mundo Deportivo reports that there are three positions that the club is particularly looking to strengthen in this summer window.
Firstly, the club is looking for a midfielder who not only suits the highly technical style of FC Barcelona but also provides some physical presence in the middle of the field. The team has been feeling the need for such a midfielder ever since the injury to Gavi, who is out for the rest of the season.
Secondly, the Catalans will also be looking for a left winger. As things stand, Ousmane Dembele left last summer, and now there is only Lamine Yamal who can effectively take on defenders and progress the ball rapidly to generate dangerous attacking chances.
Thus, FC Barcelona are looking to add another such winger on the opposite wing to make their attack even more potent. Lastly, these two positions are higher priorities for the Catalan club, but the Blaugranes also do not rule out the signing of a left-back.
However, this operation would depend on the future of Alejandro Balde at the club, who is also currently out with an injury and also did not shine as much this term as he did last season.
