FC Barcelona and Real Madrid are set to face off in one of the biggest matches in world football tonight. In addition to the prestige boost that one of the clubs receives from winning such a high-stakes match, this match will also be important for the league standings, as both the teams have only a single point difference on the points table for now.

Despite the importance of the match, or maybe because of this importance, Barcelona fans and foes still do not have any clear idea of which players will be on the pitch tonight. Up to five Barcelona starters have only started training recently, and their physical condition makes it difficult to forecast whether they can play such a high-intensity game.

Lopez highly likely to start against Real Madrid

However, according to SPORT, there is one player who is guaranteed to be a starter in this match: Fermin Lopez. The youngster has exploded onto the scene this season, and ever since the pre-season, he has been showing his talent to Xavi both in training and in the matches that he has played.

His latest performance against Shakhtar Donetsk was a testament to his commitment to the Catalan club. He was one of the most outstanding players on the pitch in this match, and Xavi saw how he took the team on his back and led Barcelona to an important victory on the biggest stage in Europe.

The rest of the dressing room is also positive towards the youngster, who has won over everyone with his friendliness, humility, and competitiveness.

Memorable goal against the Merengues

Some other players like Joao Felix, Ilkay Gundogan, and Gavi are also almost confirmed to start the game, but Fermin Lopez has made a place for himself for such a big game.

He also has great memories from playing against Real Madrid, as he scored a stunning goal against them in Dallas during the USA pre-season tour. Now, it remains to be seen how he performs against them in an official match.
