There is still no clarity about who the next head coach at FC Barcelona would be as the club’s efforts to find Xavi’s successor continue unabated.

Several coaches have been linked with Barcelona for this role, but the Catalans are yet to make a final decision in this regard. One of the names that has been linked more closely with the club in recent weeks is that of the former Bayern Munich coach, Hansi Flick.

However, it is not only Barcelona that has been linked with the German trainer, as his former club, Bayern Munich were also previously reported to be interested in getting him back to replace Thomas Tuchel, who has not been able to improve his team’s performance this season.

But there is some positive news for Barcelona in this regard, as SPORT reports that Flick has already rejected the option of returning to Bayern Munich in the middle of the season. Furthermore, the German coach also wants to take on a new sporting adventure for the next season, and not return to the team with whom he already has won every possible title.

As things stand, Flick has proposals from several big clubs already present on the table, and the coach is also keen to return to coaching after having been out of service since his last job with the German national team. Flick was dismissed last year after being unable to get the required results with Die Mannschaft.

The report goes on to mention that Flick will be particularly attentive to an offer if Barcelona decide to go with him following Xavi Hernandez’s departure this summer. Thus, the ball is now in the Catalan club’s court, which will now have to make a decision whether to engage the German or any other coach to lead the team for its new project.
