With the consistency he has shown during the last season with FC Barcelona and with the Spanish national team in the currently underway UEFA EURO 2024, Lamine Yamal is fast dispelling any lingering doubts about his quality.
Only at 16 years of age, he has become one of the key players for one of the biggest clubs in the world and has also been an important player for his national team which has reached the semi-final stage of the biggest European tournament.
As he has proven his mettle in the last season or so, he has also gathered a lot of praise from every possible quarter for his amazing talent. Fans and critics alike have not been able to keep themselves from recognizing the high quality that the youngster has been showing.
The latest to speak highly of the Barcelona youngster has been his Barcelona and Spain teammate, Ferran Torres, who recently appeared in an interview which has been reported by SPORT. Speaking about Yamal and Nico Williams, who can also be his teammate at Barcelona next season, Torres commented:
“They are prodigies, extraordinary kids, and they are showing it. At their age, it’s incredibly impressive. We need to take care of them because they are very young. They might face a lot of pressure, but they need to enjoy themselves and keep doing the same things because they are really good people.”
When asked to share a piece of advice for the youngster, Torres did not believe Yamal needed a lot of advice from him: “He doesn’t need football advice because he’s very good. I can offer advice off the field from my own experiences. I’m a teammate who tries to help as much as possible in any way I can.”
There is no doubt that with the experiences he has gathered while playing at Valencia, Manchester City, and now Barcelona, Torres can give a lot of advice to Yamal at times to come.
However, he is also right that Yamal does not need a lot of advice in regards to playing football, as he has shown that he already has what it takes to keep shining irrespective of the opponents he is facing.
