As is the norm for FC Barcelona, their players often find themselves at the podium for various individual trophies every now and then. The likes of legends such as Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta, current manager, and ex-player Xavi Hernandez alongside many others have shown their individual prowess to the extent of being recognized as individually supreme talents beyond just their collective dominance.

Marc-Andre Ter Stegen continues to follow through on his best season in a Blaugrana shirt thus far, consequently aiming to win his first-ever Zamora trophy for the best goalkeeper in La Liga. On the other end of the field, newcomer Robert Lewandowski aims to win the La Liga Pichici award in his very first season with his new side.

With his 21 goals in the league thus far, the Polish striker aims to continue strong and finish as the undisputed top scorer.

As is an annual tradition at this point, EA Sports have released the Team of the Season in collaboration with La Liga Santander. Selecting players from various teams across the league, they assemble an ensemble cast of the very best talents from the season.

For 2022/2023, a total of 15 players have been selected to represent the Team of the Season, among which five players belong to FC Barcelona.

Marc-Andre Ter Stegen is the only goalkeeper in the team and for very good reason. Leading the list for clean sheets, he also possesses various other high goalkeeping percentages that make him the undisputed pick between the sticks.

In the defensive picks, Alejandro Balde and Jules Kounde have both been selected. The young Spaniard has had the breakout season of his dreams, assisting and creating chances consistently for his team.

On the other hand, summer arrival Jules Kounde was also irreplaceable for Xavi Hernandez as the Frenchman provided cover and reliability not just as a center-back, but also as a very competent right-back.

In midfield, Barcelona youngster and previous Golden Boy winner Pedri Gonzalez gets selected. The young wizard continues to dazzle and daze with his surreal technical qualities and unprecedented game awareness, unheard of at his age.

Finally, the fifth and final FC Barcelona player to feature in the Team of the Season is none other than Robert Lewandowski, Barca’s primary number 9 and the league’s top scorer with 21 goals thus far. Having spearheaded the Catalan attack for almost the entire season, his presence in the team is barely surprising given his unreal quality.

All in all, FC Barcelona find at least one player representing the team in every positional area. Barca along with Real Madrid each have the most representatives from a single club in the final team, with five players each.
