FC Barcelona, despite their struggles and difficulties, continue to be the club they have always been. As an entity and existence, few clubs in the world can truly rival La Blaugrana for their prestige. Alas, top players even today continue to dream of playing for Barcelona despite their various problems.

One man whose interest in playing for Barcelona has generated a lot of excitement is Aleix Garcia. Despite being a captain for rival side Girona, Garcia publicly stated that Barcelona is the club he most desires to represent. However, perhaps due to the backlash or the pressure towards him, he has had to rephrase his words a bit.

As highlighted by SPORT, the player was once again asked about his comments on possibly playing for Barcelona and whether or not he regrets them:

“I don’t regret speaking well of Barça, but rather the timing and the ways. In the end, I am very transparent, and sometimes I have talked about it with other teammates… Why can’t we be transparent?”

He also talked about the feeling of winning against Barcelona when Girona visited the Montjuic Stadium and came away with a 4-2 victory:

“The week after winning at Montjuïc was tough for me, and winning was… wow. I had extra pressure, and I think it went well for me when it came to playing. Barça pressed and subjected you, but I think we played a perfect game.”

The Girona captain was also asked to comment about the situation of Oriol Romeu. A former midfielder of Girona, the Spaniard who is now at Barcelona continues to be linked back to a potential return:

“The people who love Oriol Romeu have all suffered. We trust him and are aware that he can reverse the situation, but Barça is such a big club, with such great pressure, that it can be tough.”

He further added:

“When Oriol Romeu left, we were preparing the team with him as a pivot, and it was a shock. I think we had a very good preseason, from the first moment we felt comfortable, and we have compensated well for his absence.”

He also talked about other topics such as Michel, his personal goals, and other similar details. However, it is important to note that he still remains absolute about his desire to represent Barcelona one day and has now even confirmed having talked to his teammates about it.

Garcia remains one of the many Barcelona targets for the summer transfer window. His affordability, coupled with his undeniable quality, has reportedly put him quite high on Barça’s list of priorities. In addition, his ability to play proficiently as a pivot is something La Blaugrana value greatly.
