As the squad planning for next season is taking its final shape at FC Barcelona, the next step involves actually implementing the planned changes. One important aspect of the plans for the next season is to bolster the club’s attack, and Mateu Alemany along with the club management is working diligently on these operations.

The club’s attack left a lot to be wished for with their performances this season, as only Robert Lewandowski was able to show any kind of consistency in his output. As a result, the club has planned for a major overhaul of the forward line for the upcoming season.

Yannick Carrasco has been identified by Xavi and other personnel in the sporting department as one of the candidates that can improve the club’s attack going into the next season. While the forward line currently saturated right now, the potential departure of players like Ansu Fati, Raphinha, and Ferran Torres can make enough space for the Belgian in the squad.

The latest report from SPORT claims that Mateu Alemany has put the operation for Carrasco on a fast track, and the player can become the first signing of the summer window for the Blaugranes. The operation is going so swiftly that the report claims that Belgian can be a part of the club’s tour of the United States.

Currently, the Catalans are negotiating with Atletico Madrid to bring down the price for the attacker, who is valued by the mattress makers at €18 million. Mateu Alemany believes the player is not worth this sum of money. Atletico Madrid themselves are interested in a number of Barcelona players, and a swap deal could be undertaken for Carrasco’s transfer.

The player himself is also keen on a move towards the Camp Nou and would only leave the Madrid side if he is allowed to move to Barcelona. Alemany can consider selling or swapping Dest, Torres, or Lenglet to raise funds for Carrasco’s signing.
