FC Barcelona still need to find newer blood from their subsidiary to continue helping them with their objectives. Already this season, the Catalan giants have seen their young players rise to the occasion. However, there are still more players in the Barcelona quarry waiting for a chance.
One of those players is a certain young striker who has been making waves within the subsidiary this season. Once a direct competitor of Marc Guiu’s, he is now given more and more chances to showcase his quality while Guiu spends time under Xavi’s first team.
This player, as highlighted by SPORT, is also now the top scorer of his group in the Primera RFEF. He is none other than young forward Pau Victor, who is making the most of his stay at Barcelona as he is currently loaned to them by Catalan neighbors Girona.
With 14 goals and 4 assists to his name already this season, he is topping most of the goal-scoring charts in his category. However, under normal circumstances, Victor would be getting regular chances with the first team through these excellent performances.
Unfortunately for the 22-year-old forward, his presence is overshadowed by that of both Marc Guiu and Vitor Roque. The Brazilian’s arrival and Guiu’s explosion in the first team are both clear reasons as to why Victor is still struggling to find minutes under Xavi.
Despite already having a handful of appearances in the training sessions of the first team, he is yet to debut for Barcelona first-team. However, Victor himself thinks he will be ready in case the Barcelona first team ever comes calling:
“If the first team ever calls me and I get minutes, mentally I am very prepared, and hopefully the moment will come, I really wish for it.”
