FC Barcelona got a highly encouraging 4-0 victory over Getafe in their last La Liga match at the Montjuic. This win will not only allow the Catalans to get somewhat closer to the top of the league table, but also help enhance the team’s morale going forward.

While all the players put in a good display in this match, this was one of the best games for the Brazilian winger Raphinha in some while. He scored the first goal of the game after a good run against the Getafe defense and also provided an assist later in the match.

As SPORT has reported, the player also talked to the media after the match, and shared his happiness on putting in a commendable performance in this match:

“It’s special for me because I’m coming back from an injury. I’m happy to return to the starting eleven by scoring and assisting, but the important thing is a victory that keeps us alive in the competition.”

The Brazilian winger has been out with an injury for the last few weeks, and even before he was injured, the youngster Lamine Yamal had been the preferred option for Xavi on the right wing. However, Raphinha was not worried about Yamal’s form, and shared that this competition was only making him a better player:

“I’m not worried about Lamine’s level. It’s a privilege to compete with him because he’s going to be one of the best. It’s an honor and it makes us both better. Watching him play, score, and assist makes me try to be a better player, and I think it does the same for him. This competition is good.”

The Brazilian was also quite happy with the win, but knew there were still a lot of games left:

“The important thing is to win, and there are still many games left. In the end, we’ll see where we stand in the standings.”

The 27-year-old Barcelona winger also recalled his earlier match against Getafe this season, in which he had to leave the pitch early because of a red card:

“I was really looking forward to playing this match because I was sent off in the league debut. It was something that was eating away at me. Winning with this authority is very good for the team.”
