Red Cards, Referee Carlos del Grande and Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla

The Spanish Referee Carlos del Cerro Grande will officiate Barca’s next game against Cádiz on Saturday at Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla. The last time when these two sides met at Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla, he was the one who officiated the game and sent Frenkie de Jong off the field by cautioning him twice in the space of just four minutes.

Frenkie de Jong was first cautioned for catching Perea with an arm in the 61st minute. In a space of four minutes, the Dutchman was shown a second yellow card which brought Barca down to 10 men and the match ended in a goalless draw.

Frenkie De Jong wasn’t the only one dismissed. The Refree also yellow-carded Sergi Roberto for arguing against Frenkie’s sending-off. Then in the dying moments of the game, the Referee also dismissed Ronald Koeman for showing dissent against his decision to book Sergio Busquets as well.

Addressing the press, Koeman complained: “In this country, you get sent off for nothing.” Koeman had to serve a two-match ban after his dismissal by Carlos del Cerro Grande.

After a brilliant start to the season, Fc Barcelona will take on take on Cadiz this weekend. Barcelona have gone undefeated in all competitions since the start of the season and sit second behind arch-rivals Real Madrid in the La Liga table.

Cadiz currently sit at the bottom of the La Liga table having lost all of their four matches. They have conceded 10 goals and have failed to hit the back of the net this season.

Cadiz also managed to beat Xavi’s team in the reverse fixture of the season played at Spotify Camp Nou. if we look at the results of the previous meetings between these two sides, Barcelona have failed to beat Cadiz in their last 4 outings. In these four meetings, Cadiz have won twice while the other two matches have ended in a draw.
