FC Barcelona continue to face new kinds of challenges every week this season. The Catalan club is not used to the kind of adversity they’ve already had to face this campaign, as it comes through both mentally and physically. However, perhaps the most excruciating problem for Barcelona has been their injury list.
Many of the team’s key players have had to be replaced in one way or another due to certain injuries. The likes of Gavi, Ferran Torres, Joao Felix, Marcos Alonso, and Alejandro Balde are just some of the major names currently sidelined.
However, it is exactly for situations like these that the subsidiary presents itself as a great alternative. The starlets of Barcelona Atletic and beyond know the prestige and honor of playing for the first team, and that remains their goal whenever they receive a call-up.
Now, in the face of several injuries, Xavi has decided to entrust three specific youngsters as more incorporated members of the first team. According to SPORT, the three players in question are Spanish fullback Hector Fort, defender Pau Cubarsi, and forward Marc Guiu.
Fort, aged just 17, is a great talent at the fullback position and offers both creativity and defensive solidity. Cubarsi, on the other hand, is a 17-year-old central defender who provides a great balance of both defensive attributes and technical brilliance. Lastly, Guiu is aged 18 and is primarily a striker with sharp instincts and a physique worthy of a target man.
In Guiu’s case, however, there is currently a bit of skepticism about his availability for the upcoming game against Granada. Having been injured in the last outing while playing for Barça Atletic, it seems that he will first have to take time out to recover.
Beyond just these three ‘saviors’ from the subsidiary, Barcelona also has other names on their agenda. Whereas these three are already proven players on the field under Xavi Hernandez, others like Unai Hernandez, Marc Casado, Pau Victor, Diego Kochen, and Ander Astralaga are eagerly awaiting their opportunities as well.
