There is a vast supply of talented youngsters in the quarry of La Blaugrana. FC Barcelona is a club that does not shy away from giving youngsters chances, and a lot of them make the most of it. This season alone, many Barcelona players from the subsidiary have managed to explode.

The likes of Lamine Yamal, Marc Guiu, Pau Cubarsi, and Hector Fort are just a few names that have truly come into their own this season. Their respective explosions have greatly helped Barcelona, and the club continues to count on them.

However, in the midst of all this prominence given to them, a certain starlet seems all but forgotten. Aged just 20, Marc Casado is considered one of the B team’s elite midfielders. Already the captain there, he has more than earned his stripes and position in the club.

Yet, as highlighted by SPORT, he continues to only lose as he shows up for Xavi’s call-ups. He has appeared and responded to the first team call-ups a staggering 34 times without much reward.

His only two appearances came in the UEFA Champions League this season in inconsequential matches and amounted to a total of 22 minutes of playing time.

Moreover, by being with the first team, he misses valuable minutes with the B team. Even as Barcelona face trouble in finding a pivot, it seems that Casado still does not manage to see himself in the picture.

Against Alaves, for instance, Xavi had a great opportunity to use Casado, but he instead deployed Andreas Christensen as the pivot.

With Casado’s contract coming to an end in the summer, he may have options to look elsewhere. The club is already aware of the fact that he has suitors, and a decision on his future has to be made soon. At the moment, there is a lot of uncertainty and doubt about whether or not his future lies in Barcelona.
