Sergio Busquets Considering a Contract Renewal:
Sergio Busquets is an FC Barcelona legend without any doubt, but there is also no denying that his performances have dropped in recent seasons as age has caught up with him.
Amid recent reports and rumors of him leaving the club at the end of the season, Mundo Deportivo reported that a few days ago, the Catalan captain was unwilling to further extend his contract with the club, while Xavi was pushing for him to stay another season with the club. However, Busquets has changed his mind now, and is willing for a short contract extension with the club, with the hope that Lionel Messi would be rejoining him for a last dance.
Ferran Torres Gunning to Prove His Mettle:
While he arrived with much fanfare and expectations, Ferran Torres’ first season with the Blaugrana has left a lot to be desired. SPORT reports that the young Spaniard is working extra hard on his physical and mental domains in order to regain the confidence of the club supporters and management, and help the team reclaim its venerable place in the football arena.
FC Barcelona to Begin Working on Renewals of Alonso and Bellerin:
Marcos Alonso and Hector Bellerin were brought on a short-term basis in the last transfer window, as the financial condition of the club did not allow for better contracts at the time.
However, as the team’s wage bill has improved in recent months, the Barcelona board has communicated their intentions to the players to let them remain with the team longer than previously planned. The club can offer Alonso a three-year deal, while Bellerin will be allowed to remain till June, while previously he was planned to be offloaded by January.
Barcelona’s Approach to Sign Youssoufa Moukoko Complicated by High Salary Demands
Youssoufa Moukoko has attracted the attention of several clubs with his spectacular performances this season, and FC Barcelona are one of the clubs interested in his services. However, the club is unwilling to meet his high salary demands, which go up to €7 million annually.
